The EEOC has made clear that religious freedom is one of its top areas for enforcement.  https://www.eeoc.gov/newsroom/200-days-eeoc-action-protect-religious-freedom-work.  In this 60‑minute webinar, we will focus on one area of religious freedom, i.e., religious accommodations.  More specifically, we will cover:

  1. The broad definition of a sincerely-held religious beliefs and when it may be appropriate to question whether an employee meets the definition.
  2. The Supreme Court decision in Groff and the higher standard it imposes relative to the undue hardship defense.
  3. Best practices for handling requests for religious accommodation requests.
  4. Appellate court decisions post-Groff and the practical lessons from them.
