Course Description

Complimentary DMi Webinar

If your organization is among the many employers preparing to hire teenage employees for summer 2026, this program is for you. In recent years, a number of states have made significant changes to their child labor laws. In addition, federal, state and local government agencies have stepped up enforcement of existing laws protecting teenagers at work. Gen Z workers know their rights too! It is more important than ever to be ready to address the legal and employee relations issues that may arise when employing younger workers, whether your organization hires younger workers only for the summer or year-round.

This webinar is designed for human resource professionals, managers and in-house counsel. We will cover legal issues targeted to dealing appropriately with teenage workers, such as:

  • Complying with child labor and wage & hour laws restricting work hours and requiring breaks
  • Preventing and addressing allegations of workplace harassment and bullying
  • Responding to requests for accommodations, including with regard to emotional/mental health
  • Mitigating legal risk by implementing policies and procedures with the younger workforce in mind

Credits: 1.0 CA CLE; 1.0 NJ CLE; 1.0 NY CLE; 1.0 PA CLE; 1.0 HRCI; 1.0 SHRM (Other states may be available for CLE credits upon request)
