Course Description

As we usher in the new year, there is no shortage of uncertainty for employers, from labor force attrition to hiring struggles to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic that continues to upend workplaces. There is some certainty amidst the chaos, however: pay equity will continue to be a focus of federal and state government action, as well as plaintiff’s lawyers across the country. Which means that pay equity also needs to be a part of employers’ HR planning and risk mitigation strategies. The only problem is that many employers don’t know where to start and don’t where they’re going when it comes to pay equity.

This webinar will tackle the practical aspects and strategies of internal pay equity analyses designed to identify and address gaps on employers’ terms, and mitigate the risk of pay gap liability. We will discuss the pay equity analysis process and practical and legal considerations from soup to nuts, tackling the development of pay analysis groupings (particularly in light of different legal standards in different jurisdictions), considerations related to scope of the analysis, identifying factors/variables influencing compensation, analyzing outliers, taking corrective action where problems are identified, and diagnosing and addressing practices that are causing pay equity issues.
