Whether you have an established business presence in the Midwest or only recently hired staff working remotely from states in the middle of the country, join us as we cover important employment law topics in these sometimes-overlooked states.  Focusing on Illinois and Ohio, we will provide an overview of state laws governing employee wage payment, classification of independent contractors, managing leaves of absence and enforcement of restrictive covenants in Illinois or Ohio.  We also will examine the impact of new laws affecting the workplace in the Land of Lincoln (such as new bereavement leave and meal break requirements, new sexual harassment prevention training and policies for Chicago employers) and the Buckeye State (overhaul of administrative procedure for EEO claims, new rights for firearms owners).  Attendees will come away with tips for updating their policies and procedures to stay current with the employment law landscape in these states.
