Course Description

Managing employee FMLA leave requests can be challenging for any employer, particularly when employees work remotely. Add to the complexity is the reality that well-intended supervisors sometimes offer employees flexibility, without understanding when the leave process has been triggered. Increasingly, employees are in need of leave to address mental health conditions, and managers and supervisors are not often well-equipped to know how to respond.

This webinar will review common traps that employers should avoid in administering their leaves of absence program. We will focus on information managers and supervisors need to know so that their actions align with their employer’s obligations under the law. We will also examine the recent updated guidance from the U.S. Department of Labor on the availability of FMLA for mental health conditions to understand the reach of the law in these circumstances.
