Course Description

Antisemitic violence, intimidation and hate speech have reached their highest levels since the defeat of the Nazis. Often referred to as the oldest form of hate, antisemitism is a conspiracy theory pursuant to which Jews are both vermin and all powerful at the same time. Jew hatred may impact how Jewish employees feel at work. There also is an increase in conscious and/or implicit antisemitism at work.

This program will cover:

  1. Working definition of antisemitism
  2. Disturbing trends on violent and rhetorical manifestations of antisemitism
  3. ADL Survey on stereotypic perceptions of Jews in America
  4. AJC Survey on perceptions by Jews of extent of antisemitism in America
  5. Holocaust denial and distortion
  6. Discrimination at work: not only “based on religion”
  7. Harassing conduct at work: obvious and more subtle
  8. Failure to accommodate Jewish beliefs, practices and observances
  9. ESG and DEI: privilege, intersectional and model minority traps
  10. 11 steps employers can take to attack the problem and increase Jewish belonging
