Course Description

Workplace conversations are fraught with legal risk and when managers say the wrong thing, it can have major consequences for an organization. From answering an applicant’s questions to letting someone go, and everything in between, the words that managers use really do matter. In this webinar, you will learn our best tips for how to minimize legal risk by finding the right words in the most challenging workplace conversations. We will walk you through what managers should and shouldn’t say in common workplace conversations that occur throughout the life cycle of an employee, including during interviews, on-boarding and training, performance management and discipline, complaints and investigations, requests for leaves and accommodations, and termination. This webinar will provide practical guidance on how to answer difficult questions, respond appropriately to various types of employee disclosures and concerns, and know when saying less is more (and when it isn’t).
