Course Description:
K-12 and post-secondary institutions receiving federal financial assistance are subject to Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. For the first time since 1975, the U.S. Department of Education has published significant changes in the regulations establishing legal obligations of Title IX recipients under 34 CFR Part 106. The changes must be implemented by August 14, 2020. The Final Rule eliminates the single investigator model and requires additional roles in the grievance process. This presentation will focus on the Informal Resolution Facilitator and Decision-Maker roles, including:

• Responsibilities of the Informal Resolution Facilitator
• Responsibilities of the Decision-Maker and live-hearing requirements
• Who can and who should serve in each of these roles
• Training requirements
• Implementation of responsibilities in the grievance process

Pending Credits: 1.0 CA CLE; 1.2 NJ CLE; 1.0 NY CLE; 1.0 PA CLE; 1.0 HRCI; 1.0 SHRM
