In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and implementation of federal leave laws, New York state implemented its own COVID-19-specific leave, as well as a general paid sick leave law. New York City followed suit and amended its Earned Sick and Safe Time Act, with the full benefits for each available beginning January 1, 2021. This program will review the new laws, changes to existing laws, and steps employers should take to comply.
