Learn how to make the right decision while avoiding legal missteps! This seminar will examine the hiring process, from beginning to end. Starting with the job posting/advertisement and ending with the offer letter and focusing a great deal of attention on the legality of background checks, this training, designed for human resources professionals, in-house counsel and managers, will take a practical and business-focused look at how to ensure the best hire while minimizing the possibility of legal claims. The training also will discuss how to prepare for these claims if they come. Please join our fast-paced and interactive analysis of the hiring process where special attention will be paid to subjects, including creating and maintaining diversity in hiring; updating your employment application to ensure legal compliance; making the decision on whom to interview; avoiding legal liability in your interview questions; preparing for questions asked by candidates and avoiding legally binding promises to those questions; documenting the hiring decision; drafting an effective and legally compliant offer letter; and conducting background checks, including criminal, social media and pre-employment drug testing.
