Course Description:
The discharge of legally protected, hostile or emotionally fragile employees presents special problems, especially when the cause for the action relates to the characteristic that makes the discharge difficult. Even if an employee is discharged for legitimate reasons, the termination process itself is fraught with legal, physical and human resources issues. Unfortunately, a high-risk termination will mean that the employer will get sued or the former employee will harm him/herself or target others, even you, for violence. This seminar provides an overview of issues for employers to neutralize or otherwise protect against the problems raised by termination of a high-risk employee. This 2-½-hour seminar is designed for human resources professionals, in-house counsel and senior managers.
