Program ID 2963485
Wednesday, Jun 10th 2020
02:00 pm - 03:30 pm (EST)
1.5 Credits
Course Description:
COVID-19 has changed everything. And that includes what is effective leadership and what a safe and productive culture will look and feel like.

This video program will be an interactive dialogue focusing on:

1. Responding to an employee who refuses to wear a safety mask or comply with other safety precautions
2. Responding to an employee who refuses to come to the workplace and/or requests an accommodation
3. Communicating effectively with employees and other stakeholders (with expressions we recommend you avoid)
4. Rethinking existing company policies (plus new policies you will want to consider)
5. Focusing on the human considerations employees will experience in returning from remote work to onsite work
6. Integrating a remote and onsite workforce; bridging the new divide
7. Evaluating performance trends, including the consideration of new competencies
8. Interviewing an applicant virtually
9. Terminating an employee virtually

There are legal underpinnings for all of these issues. But these issues involve more than just the law. It’s not just what leaders do but how they do it—and, to a certain degree, how employees feel afterward.

Employer who characterize these issues as soft issues may face hard consequences in terms of productivity, retention, litigation and unionization. Yes, retention, too. Your high performers are in higher demand than ever.
