Okay Boomer, You Want WHAT Job?
Program ID 2941029
Thursday, Feb 13th 2020
01:00 pm - 02:00 pm (EST)
1.0 Credits
Course Description:
The Department of Labor predicts that, by 2021, approximately 1 out of every 5 individuals working, or actively looking for work, will be over the age of 55. At the same time, there is a steady increase in vacant positions where employers cannot find qualified candidates.

Employers have an opportunity to tap into talented older workers to meet their business needs. Employers who exclude older workers, as a result of systemic, conscious or implicit bias, face legal risk and business challenges.

This webinar will focus on recruiting, hiring and onboarding older workers. The webinar also will address multi-generational training that is designed to increase awareness but in fact actually may cement stereotypes.

On this issue of age stereotyping, we will talk about the meme “okay, boomer,” which is anything but okay. We also will talk about stereotyping millennials which is unlawful in only some states but bad business in every state.
